the divine invasion
this chicago based band put out seven demo tracks, comprised of guitar, bass, drums, and lyricless vocalization. just at
the dawn of myspace.com and it's band-site platform, i was enlisted to create the divine invasion's website. it is hosted here,
along with the four original demos, and some great graphic work by divine invasion bassist, chief rumblebee. i really should post
the additional demos i was sent. i'm unsure how the band has moved on. they played one show in a small chicagoan club, which
i'm told went very well. can't thank the members enough for the content. coloring book is to canvas, as myspace is to a friend's
space.

one man fan
once milwaukeean, now wausau wisconsinite, one man fan keeps coming down to a kevin bassinger solo project: drum machine, vocals, guitar...
maybe a little bass synthesizer. however, kevin has been working with miles zachary, who seems to enjoy a bit of dedication. some live basement
recordings should get kevin off the rap kick he's on. there is a female vocalist in the wings of joining o.m.f., too. i'll keep it short, here.

the drivers, has been taken, according to myspace, which is of course, the definitive. the drivers was kevin bassinger's first pick for a name.
it's a laughing shame when creative differences over a name impede a band's initiation, but that's the story of the drivers... but not the
experimental pop punk band, the drivers, out of the u.k., though.

sonic junkie archive
for a long time, this was the repository for many drunken nights with my guitar. the script formats a directory of mp3s into a list. i was fed up with
standard indexing. the name gets all cut off. at some point i claimed one man fan had credit to all tracks in the directory. it's an interesting
bit of history for me, anyway. it lists them starting with the oldest, down to the newest, since i couldn't figure
out how to make it list them any other way. there's a dual cycle of my voice improving over time, and deproving with alcohol.

future dissolution
soon after this project was posted, i read an article in the onion about a fictitious piece of software that degrades the quality of photographs, and
even loses them over time, to simulate what actually happens to photo archives. except losing the photos, that's what this demonstration does. in
increments of years, it fades and dirties nine photographs of automobiles. two years after the project's completion, some degradation might
be detectable, though the scale can be set at any year by the viewer. the project is a space hog, having a separate photo for each level of
fading. it's possible flash or a java applet would have been more efficient, but i was working with the skills i had. the photographer got herself
in a little trouble over photographing license plates. a dude in paranoia kind of freaked on her. this link is associated with

gregor chronicles

early in this site's existence came the acquisition of a scanner. i took two story books i'd assembled from photos taken as a teenager, and webified them
into what is seen here. looking back, the navigation system of the stories could have been better had i known a bit more about web scripting. for
those savvy in hypertext, the pages are spaced out on a long page, and linked by anchors. javascript could have done a better job. entertaining, i'm told,
nonetheless. the physical storybooks were uncovered recently in a move. i'd left out a photo of one of the world trade towers in the web version. the
tower was cut out of a photo of both towers-prior to 9/11. it made me a bit superstitious, and i related it to my sister's boyfriend. he said he'd drawn
mustaches on pictures of friends, and they'd actually grown mustaches later in life. i asked, are any of them affiliated with al qaida?

human samsara: interactive
this was an afterthought project, related to the music video by the same name. in this interactive version, there is no accompanying music. but, the
viewer has control over the direction and speed of the timelapse animation, and may also step through the photos to see if they recognize anyone
in the coffeeshop. i'm proud of the interface, having used simple javascript rollovers gracefully enough to hide their simplicity. the coffeeshop depicted
has closed for business within the last few months. for many of it's qualities, it was a main haunt for me. i post this animation and the music video in legacy of

kentaro onda attended school in milwaukee, and roomed with me for several months. during the time before he moved in, he'd trade chinese food
from his workplace for my help updating his online portfolio. also in turn, i showed him how to mp3 his gigantically great vinyl collection.
he wanted to take his journalistic photography to new york, and i believe he still might. but, last i heard he was back home in tokyo. the guy's a
hell of a photographer, listener, and guy in general. i've got a great shot of his on my winxp desktop background, at the moment. to view ken's

much like how i indexed all early one man fan recordings, this webscript indexes directories of images. the pictures load when the user hovers over
the name, and is then displayed in the lower right. it works well for high speed connections, but you may want to click the name. on a click, the
picture is loaded normally, and can be saved to your machine. there are some early, early pictures of me, the webmonkey, in these directories.

displaying it on youtube.com; needs resolution conversion. and, i'm just not all that into it like i was.

human samsara
repetitious visuals synchronized with repetitious music. twenty four photographs comprise the timelapses, and two guitar riffs make up
the music. as painstaking the sequencing of hundreds of frames was for me, and as much as the little tune would not leave my head while making
this video... the photographer braved two back to back twenty-four hour nights in an all night cafe in order to gather these images. this link is associated

graveyard
named for the nicknamed museum of decaying ships behind the pier in bayfield, wisconsin. much of my writing was done in this town, spurred
by joining a writing group, for a short time, at a local cafe. the graveyard is quite aptly named so when considering the fate of many of the
main characters in this collection of short stories. there used to be a poetry section to it, but at some point i found myself too cool for poetry.
however, i found myself writing some on the bus in milwaukee, recently. and, lyrics to one man fan songs probably count, too. these stories
are what "out of context," over on the right bar of this screen, sample to create randomly generated paragraphs. i haven't written a short story
in awhile, perhaps due to the persnickety reformatting "out of context" requires of me on each one.

the gods' bananas excerpts
these excerpts are taken from the longest and most monumentous writing effort of george k. george. the gods' bananas journalistically documents
several stays in psychiatric wards in ashland and milwaukee county during the summer of 2004. george encounters a seemingly psychic form of
communication called transference, which he participates in, and also observes in other patients. although the author is writing this blurb, i'll say that
those who have read the unpublished manuscript have found it cathartic, and hilariously honest, at times. the original gods' bananas consisted of three
parts, each of about twenty-five typewritten pages. george is struggling to keep contact with an editor, but envisions this book to eventually be published,
even if independently.

kemosabe times zine archive
i distributed a zine in grade school. i was more entranced with eight-bit desktop publishing software than i was conscientious of providing newsworthy
content to my fellow grade schoolers. though, i poked a lot of fun at the ensuing gulf war, as well as our sex ed teacher. the rag nearly landed me in
some trouble back then, but never seriously. when we were in high school, bassist of the divine invasion uncovered the lot of 5th through 7th grade zinery.
he proposed that with the help of his macintosh, and recruited peers, we could ressurect the zine. the complete history is contain behind this link, so i won't
spoil it. this site's name is derived from the zine's title. each domain name prior had been bought up as soon as i let my credit card slip. unmentioned in
this t.k.t. archive is the plan my high school friend and i had to sustain the publication webwise through our college careers. well, the little e-zine finally
made it.

the plot sickens
it's hard to say how much interest this weblog holds besides to the two bloggers who, now, rarely update it. it was public e-mail, essentially... seems
we sometimes need that public aspect, as is shown by friend comment-bloggers on myspace. or, getting paid to have television cameras follow
us around in our daily lives. it amazes me the lack of stage fright the general american public has on t.v. today. maybe it's the money. the keyboard
can be a sort of truth syrum, too. i thought of calling a song "keyboard confessional." somebody, if not several people groaned about the band
dashboard confessional, when i related it. concerning this weblog, though: if you know us, there's a chance you'll find yourself on the inside of an
inside joke, but i tried hard to keep you from the butt of it.

on top of that, she enjoys writing. did i mention she was a co-blogger to "the plot sickens," described above? here are posted several of her essays, post
high school. she tells me she's got some roaring stuff from study hall uncovered now. but, i need no proof. she'd have readings of her new kids on the
block fanzine in her living room. on the actual page, i believe i compared her writing style to a fresh cup of coffee. did i mention her farmers market of
vocabulary? well, when the cup is luke, and you have no banana, check out the music and imagery tacked on to the page.

do not believe that you are god. in it's first life, i got two visitors who were not friends of the site. using the phonetics of the surfers' names, i was suprised
at how easy it was to name each as divinity. the page has not been accepting submissions for some time now. but keep checking back, and don't forget

slash pound weblog
this weblog has archives dating back five years, to date. its black pages led me through times of isolation. the process of attempting presentability
helped hone my conversation skills, and impromptu composition skills. these were needed in times of rigorous education. when education ended
for blogger g.k.g., the weblog blogged on, covering daily life in a metropolis. i bulleted lists, mused poetry, and narrated outings. there is a gap
in the bloggage that spans nearly, if not entirely, a year. the blog is again active, and recently updated as of june 2007. thank you for those whose
feedback has kept me clattering at the keyboard on into the early hours.

this is a live journal site of someone i admire greatly. we have lived together in a variety of arrangements, and she knows me as well her favorite

correspondence art pieces. and, a peek through one of her journals is pure mescaline. a purveyor of music of diverse genres, which she arañarranges

actually, when thinking of the genius of each blog by haircut on myspace, i'm ready to toss my keyboard to the trash for what i only aspire to in these
blurbs. this one's a must see. they are better when read with haircut's voice as your internal voice. if you don't know haircut, i pity you. to give
away a secret, he is miles zachary, floating member of one man fan. he's a gracious host in his home, and a decent dinner companion. that is,
despite the need he feels to thank each waitress he meets with a greeting card. oblivion in jest, and classic: read this man's weblog.

why does this blogger.com user have this myspace weblog? near guarenteed readership. that's what making the switch from blogger.com to
blog.myspace.com came to. standardized access and the adorable quirks of this ghetto profile site roped me into neglecting the
slash pound weblog. its subheading reads "dijonaze's lo-pro myspace weblog," dijonaze being my
subdomain handle. and that's what it was, lo-pro, a receptacle for throw away material. i really got going on constructing scenes out of the resizable
emo icons, too.

2112 a field trip
there is a lengthy article on this link's page, all about text based adventure. 2112 was written for a competition, and took 24th place of 50 some
entries. i was awarded with a cd of swedish rock-n-roll, 24 tracks spanning 24 years. i was also awarded with numerous reviews. the game
was commended for its home-brewed parser, and i figured out that they meant it wasn't constructed from a text-based adventure game
programming language or construction set. i hard coded this game in visual basic 6, though i have entirely misplaced the code since the game
was submitted. i would like to tweak the minor bugs out of it, and rerelease it. it's a windows application, and includes some audio and visuals.
there's a character in the story... the great goddess oona. it's interesting that a cousin of mine named her daughter oona, with the same spelling.
i doubt there's a connection, but i had thought i'd entirely made up the name. one of the judges to the contest said oona was by far the cutest
character in the competition, and i was glad he made it as far in the game as to meet her. it's an epic, a long game; too long said one judge, but only
for what was recommended by the competition guidelines. i have since tinkered with a popular text-based adventure language called inform.
i have my ideas of how i'd program 2112 differently, but still as a home-brewed parser. though, i released a highly intuitive game about squirrels
with inform, in a fraction of the time.

abacadup
at the moment, this open source software goes for $30. the code is provided, so of course, anyone with microsoft visual studio can recompile it
to bypass the registration. the software from which it borrows most of its code, bacdafucup, was released as a free package, under the gnu gpl
license. so, abacadup retains the license. i am toying with the idea of making abacadup completely free, too. very little response has come from
this pay-version. the purpose of the software is explained in detail on the page behind the link. however, to give some background here: abacadup
is a real-time backup and data preservation solution. it copies files to other drives and network locations as they are updated in any application.
it seems a real useful little tool, especially when i hear about data loss, and people stopping what they are doing to cut and paste to a backup
drive. features include discreet notification, logs, and previous version preservation.

goodbye cruel squirrel
this is the second interactive fiction game i have produced, since 2112 for competition in 2001. i have begun several others, but have either bitten off
more than i could chew, or found a dead end to my improvisation. goodbye cruel squirrel, whose title i surely stole from something or another, is a text based
adventure game from the first-person point of view of a gray squirrel. i've been given suggestion on how to make clues in the game more explicit. though,
many of the testers had little trouble with much of what i thought would be challenging. text based adventure tends to tease the brain, where the player draws
complete blanks on the solution... revisiting rooms in the halls, caves, or forest wishing only for a key that fits. this inform module is interpreted by a
great little java applet found on sourceforge.net: ZPlet
